This position includes administrative support for the Hospice team to facilitate the timely completion of paperwork as well as a variety of specialized duties, including scheduling, processing admissions, and coordinating the time-sensitive delivery of important supplies and equipment to patients. The position also requires continual communication between the Hospice clinical supervisors and Hospice field clinicians throughout the day to develop an efficient schedule to meet the needs of patients and clinicians. The Hospice Team Assistant is also responsible for answering incoming departmental phone calls from staff and patients and directing calls to the appropriate clinician or supervisor. The Hospice Team Assistant exercises judgment and initiative in non-routine situations and can function without supervision.

The Hospice Team Assistant position is a full time (40 hours) position and the hours of work are 8:00AM 4:30PM, Monday Friday. Qualifications that would aid in the success of the Hospice Team Assistant include: High school diploma with some college education or degree preferred, one to three years of diverse office experience, strong computer skills, and experience dealing with the public in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Medical terminology certification or relevant experience is strongly preferred. First-hand experience in a medical office environment is preferred but other related experience will be considered. Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and a positive, upbeat presence at all times.
