Provides patient care under the supervision of an RN in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice. Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical and spiritual needs.
Distributes medications to residents per physician orders and completes required documentation.
Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
The ideal candidate will have:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program preferred.
Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) and is an active, good standing registeree on the Maine Certified Nursing Assistant Registry required.
Certified as a Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) and Personal Support Specialist (PSS) required or within 120 days of hire, meets the State of Maine standards to qualify as a or Residential Care Specialist I (if received prior to September 1, 2003). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.
